Real, scannable barcodes — not placeholder graphics

OneFileKit encodes barcodes on the server with industry symbology libraries and validates checksums for product formats like EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A and UPC-E, so what you download is genuinely scannable.

Each format has real constraints — EAN-13 needs 12–13 digits with a valid check digit, Code 39 supports a limited character set, and QR Code can hold much more data including URLs, emails, phone numbers and Wi‑Fi credentials. We surface the real validation message from the server rather than guessing.

Low-contrast color combinations are rejected because they are unlikely to scan reliably in the real world — we check contrast before generating.

Frequently asked questions

Which barcode formats are supported?
Code 128 and Code 39 for general text, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A and UPC-E for retail products, ISBN for books, and QR Code for URLs, text, email, phone numbers and Wi‑Fi credentials.
What numbers do EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A and UPC-E need?
EAN-13 needs 12 or 13 digits, EAN-8 needs 7 or 8 digits, and UPC-A needs 11 or 12 digits. If you provide the check digit yourself, we verify it; if you don't, we calculate it for you automatically.
Can a QR Code encode a URL, email, phone number or Wi‑Fi network?
Yes. Switch the data type to URL, Email, Phone or Wi‑Fi and the correct payload format (like mailto:, tel: or a WIFI: config string) is generated automatically.
What file formats can I download?
PNG for general use, SVG for crisp scaling in design tools, and PDF for print-ready layouts. DPI controls PNG/PDF resolution.
Can I generate many barcodes at once?
Yes. Upload a CSV or TXT file with one value per row (or pick a CSV column), and we generate a barcode for every row using your current format and style, then package them into a ZIP.
Will the barcode actually scan?
We validate checksums for product formats and reject color combinations with insufficient contrast, but real-world scanning also depends on print quality, size and your scanner — always test a sample before mass printing.
