Real OCR — not a canned demo

OneFileKit runs actual optical character recognition on the image you upload, using Apple Vision or Tesseract depending on what's available on the server. There is no sample text, no placeholder invoice, and no pre-written result — what you see is what the engine read from your file.

Accuracy depends on image resolution, lighting, skew and the language you select. Preprocessing options like deskew, denoise and auto-contrast can help with photos of documents, but handwriting and very low-resolution images remain harder to read reliably.

Only languages the server actually has installed are offered in the language picker, so you won't be able to select a pack that isn't supported.

Security & privacy

  • Images are validated by extension, declared type and file signature before processing.
  • Uploads and OCR output live in private storage — never under public/static web paths.
  • Download links require a secret token bound to your job.
  • Temporary files are deleted automatically after a configurable retention period.

Frequently asked questions

What does Image to OCR do?
It reads text out of a photo or screenshot using optical character recognition, then lets you edit the result and download it as TXT, a searchable PDF, or a Word document.
How accurate is the text extraction?
Accuracy depends on image resolution, lighting, skew and language. Preprocessing (deskew, denoise, auto-contrast, sharpen) can improve results on document photos, but we don't claim perfect transcription — always review the output.
Which languages are supported?
Only the languages actually installed on the server are shown in the language picker. If Apple Vision is used, fewer languages may be available than with Tesseract language packs.
Which image formats can I upload?
JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, BMP, GIF, AVIF and HEIC are accepted, subject to the file size limits shown on this page.
Can I correct mistakes before downloading?
Yes. The extracted text is editable per image. Use Reset to OCR at any time to discard your edits and go back to the original OCR output.
Can I process multiple images at once?
Yes. Upload a batch, run OCR on all or just the selected images, then download results individually or together as a ZIP.
