Password Strength Information

  • Weak: Easily guessable. Avoid for important accounts.
  • Moderate: Better, but still can be cracked with enough effort.
  • Strong: Good password with a mix of characters.
  • Very Strong: Highly secure. Great for important accounts.

Strength scores are estimates only and do not guarantee security.

Quick Actions

How to generate a password

  1. Step 1

    Set length and character types

Choose 4–64 characters and which classes to include (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols).

  2. Step 2

    Tune options

Exclude similar or ambiguous characters, ensure every type appears, or generate pronounceable passwords.

  3. Step 3

    Generate

Create one or many passwords with Web Crypto. Each result is independently random.

  4. Step 4

    Copy, download, or use

Copy individually or all at once, download TXT/CSV/JSON, or use a password in another OneFileKit form.

Cryptographically secure passwords — generated locally

OneFileKit generates passwords with the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues), not Math.random. Character selection uses rejection sampling to avoid modulo bias.

Strength labels and estimated entropy are informational heuristics based on length, character diversity, and common patterns. They do not prove a password cannot be attacked.

Generation stays in your browser. We never store passwords in databases, Redis, analytics, or server logs for normal use.

Frequently asked questions

Are my passwords uploaded?
No. Passwords are generated locally in your browser using Web Crypto and never leave your device for normal use.
Does a “Strong” label mean my password is uncrackable?
No. Strength is an estimate based on length, character mix, and simple pattern checks. It is not a guarantee of security.
Are pronounceable passwords as strong as random ones?
Pronounceable passwords are easier to remember but typically have lower entropy than fully random strings of the same length. Prefer longer lengths when using this mode.
Do you store generated passwords?
No. Generated passwords are not saved to our servers, databases, or analytics. Optional local preferences store only settings (length, character types), never password values.
